Melamine Tray Mould | Large Flat Tray Moulds – PANLONG
Product Detail
The PANLONG melamine tray mould is a compression mould built for large, flat, shallow-draw products - serving trays, buffet trays, tea trays and handled trays. Trays look simple and behave differently: the mould has to deliver a flat, warp-free surface across a much wider area than a plate, which is what this tool is designed around
Why Large Flat Moulds Are Their Own Design
-
A tray is not a scaled-up plate. The geometry changes what the mould has to control:
(1)Flatness across a wide surface - small warpage that is invisible on a plate becomes obvious on a tray
-
(2)Wall-thickness consistency at the rim, where trays are lifted and loaded
(3)Surface quality across a large polished area, since trays are seen flat-on under serving light
Tray Types We Build Moulds For
-
(1)Round and rectangular serving trays
(2)Trays with or without handles, subject to product design
(3)Buffet and canteen trays built for stacking
(4)Retail and gift tray designs with room for printed decoration
Matched to Your Press
Tray moulds are dimensioned to the press family that produces tableware - 250T to 550T - so the mould fits the platen, and the tonnage follows the tray size. Large trays generally run as single or low-cavity moulds; smaller trays can run more cavities. Moulds are machined from P20 / 718 pre-hardened steel with hard chrome plated, mirror-polished cavities
FAQ
Question1:What plate and bowl sizes can one mould produce?
Round and rectangular trays, with or without handles, across a wide size range. Send your tray drawing with dimensions and rim design and we will confirm the mould build
Question2: Which press tonnage suits a tray mould?
Trays run on the tableware press family, 250T to 550T. The tonnage follows tray size and cavity count - large trays need more tonnage than small tea trays. Send the product dimensions for a press recommendation
Question3:How is flatness controlled on a large flat tray?
Through mould design, cooling behaviour and press pressure settings working together. A mould built for flat products keeps the tray stable through the cycle, which is why a tray-specific mould is used rather than a plate mould
Question4: Can tray moulds produce decal-printed trays?
Yes - mirror-polished cavities suit both solid and decal-printed trays. Printed decoration is applied and sealed with the finishing line after moulding
Question5: How many cavities should a tray mould have?
Large trays are usually single or low-cavity; smaller trays can run more cavities. We propose the layout based on tray size, platen area and your target output.
