Mold Type
According to the different shapes of the tableware produced, it can be divided into bowl molds, plate molds, cup molds, spoon molds, etc. For example, soup bowl molds can produce soup bowls of various specifications and shapes, and dinner plate molds can produce dinner plates of different shapes such as round, square, and oval.
● High precision:
It can accurately replicate the designed shape and size of tableware, ensure the consistency and aesthetics of the tableware, and meet the needs of different customers for tableware shapes.
● High production efficiency:
It can be designed into a multi-cavity mold to form multiple tableware at a time, improving production efficiency and reducing production costs. For example, some six-cavity soup bowl molds can produce six soup bowls at a time.
● Good demoulding properties:
The specially treated mold surface allows the formed tableware to be demoulded smoothly, reducing the scrap rate and facilitating mold cleaning and maintenance.
Melamine molds are usually hot pressing molds with complex and precise structures, mainly including:
1. Cavity:
The core of the mold, directly forming the shape of the tableware. It can be a single-cavity mold (one product per mold) or a multi-cavity mold (multiple products per mold, high efficiency).
2. Heating system:
There are complex flow channels inside the mold, which pass high-temperature hot oil or steam to provide uniform heat for the melting and solidification of melamine powder.
3. Exhaust system:
When the mold is closed, the air and reaction gases in the cavity must be exhausted. Well-designed exhaust slots are key to preventing defects such as bubbles and material shortages in the product.
4. Ejector system:
After the product solidifies, it is smoothly ejected from the mold by an ejector pin or pneumatic device. The position of the ejector pin must be designed so as not to affect the appearance of the product.
5. Guide system:
ensures that the upper and lower molds can be accurately aligned during high-speed mold closing to prevent mold damage or flash.、
FAQ
Question1:Are melamine molds and polyurethane molds the same thing?
Yes. In the industry, we typically use the term "melamine mold." The tableware produced using this mold is made from melamine resin, a safe polymer. The finished product is safe under normal use and fundamentally different from the illegally added chemical raw material "melamine."
Question2:Why are some melamine tableware as smooth as porcelain and some with a matte or leather texture?
It all depends on the surface treatment of the mold cavity.
● Smooth Surface: The mold is mirror polished.
● Textures such as matte/leather/stone: The mold is etched (also known as biting), and the steel surface is corroded by chemical solutions to form various fine textures.
Question3:What do "single-head mold" and "multi-head mold" mean on the mold?
This refers to the number of cavities in the mold.
● Single head mold:
One mold can only produce one product at a time. Suitable for products with large size or low production volume.
● Multi-head mold:
A mold with multiple identical cavities can produce multiple identical products at a time. It has high production efficiency and is suitable for small and large-scale production of products such as bowls, spoons, small plates, etc.
Question4:What should we pay attention to when maintaining the mold?
● Daily: Clean the cavity regularly to prevent carbon deposits from the release agent.
● When shutting down: the mold must be cleaned and sprayed with anti-rust oil to prevent rust.
● Storage: The mold should be closed and stored to avoid bumps and dust.
Question5: Is custom mold design available?
Yes, you can provide us with the images of the tableware you want, and we will create a design and manufacture the molds according to the desired size and shape. Alternatively, we can send you our mold catalog for selection and reference.
