Product Detail
Melamine tableware molds are precision metal tools installed on a melamine-specific hydraulic press to mold and cure melamine resin under high temperature and pressure. The cavity of the mold is the "negative image" of the final product.
Core Characteristics and Requirements of Mold Manufacturing
Extremely High Material Requirements:
(1) High-quality mold steel, such as pre-hardened plastic mold steel P20, must be used.
(2) Requirements include: high hardness (to resist abrasion from melamine powder), high wear resistance, good thermal conductivity (for heat exchange), and excellent corrosion resistance (to resist moisture and minor decomposition products).
High Machining Precision:
(1) The surface finish of the cavity/core determines the surface gloss of the molded product, typically requiring a mirror polishing level (#A1 or higher).
(2) Dimensional tolerances must be controlled within ±0.05mm or even tighter to ensure product dimensional stability and precise parting lines.
Heat Treatment Process:
Mold steel must undergo heat treatment such as quenching and tempering to achieve the required hardness and toughness, extending its service life.
Mold Cost and Lifespan
(1) High Cost: A complex, multi-cavity, high-precision melamine mold represents the largest expenditure after equipment investment.
(2) Extra-Long Lifespan: Under normal use and maintenance, a high-quality melamine mold can produce over 500,000 cycles, even millions of products. Therefore, it is a core fixed asset of the factory.
(3) Maintenance: Regular cleaning, rust prevention, and inspection of venting channels and ejector pins are crucial for ensuring mold lifespan.
Summary
Melamine tableware molds are far more than simple "iron boxes"; they are high-tech products integrating materials science, precision machining, thermodynamic design, and extensive experience.
Their core value lies in their ability to effectively and evenly transfer the "high temperature" and "high pressure" provided by the hydraulic press to the raw materials through extremely high precision, a perfect surface, and scientific thermal management. This allows them to stably and efficiently replicate millions of identical, high-quality products in the shortest possible cycle.
