Heat Resistant Insoluble Melamine Molding Powder With Shear Strength
Product Detail
Core components and characteristics
Melamine raw material powder is not a single component, but a mixture of base resin and various additives, and its properties are determined by each component.
• Base resin: mainly melamine and formaldehyde polymerized under specific conditions, which is the basis for determining the core properties of melamine tableware such as high temperature resistance and hardness.
• Fillers: commonly cassava starch or cellulose, which are used to reduce costs, improve processing fluidity, and enhance the rigidity and impact resistance of the finished product.
• Colorants: Inorganic or organic pigments are added as needed to give the finished product different colors and patterns. It is necessary to ensure that they meet the safety standards for food contact materials.
Release agents:such as zinc stearate, help the molded tableware to be easily removed from the mold and avoid sticking.

Key performance and safety considerations
1.High temperature resistance:
Under normal use, it can withstand temperatures from -30℃ to 120℃, which can meet the heating (such as short-term heating in a microwave oven, please refer to the product instructions) and refrigeration needs of daily tableware. However, it may deform or cause trace substances to migrate if the temperature exceeds 150℃.
2.Corrosion resistance:
It is not easily corroded by common food components such as acids, alkalis, and oils. Its smooth surface is easy to clean and does not easily absorb stains and odors.
3.Safe use boundary:
• It is necessary to select raw material powder that meets the standards for melamine resin used in food contact (such as the Chinese standard GB 4806.7), and avoid using industrial-grade melamine powder (which may contain excessive free formaldehyde).
Avoid prolonged immersion in hot water or contact with high concentrations of strong acids or alkalis (such as undiluted disinfectant) to prevent material aging or substance migration.
FAQ
Question1:Is food-grade melamine powder toxic? Does it release formaldehyde?
Compliant food-grade melamine powder is non-toxic and will not release formaldehyde under normal use:
• Raw material standards: The resin purity of food-grade melamine powder must be ≥95%. Additives (colorants, release agents) must meet food contact grade requirements (such as EU No. 10/2011 and China GB 4806.7). They must pass the "Migration of Hazardous Substances" test before leaving the factory.
• Release conditions: Formaldehyde can only be decomposed and released when subjected to long-term high temperatures exceeding 120°C (such as open flame heating or oven baking) or when "raw materials are unqualified" (such as industrial-grade melamine powder or urea-formaldehyde resin as substitutes).
Question2: Can we provide samples?
Yes, we typically offer free samples of around 2kg. However, the shipping cost for the samples will be borne by the customer.
Question3:Why do some melamine tableware turn yellow or get stained after being used for a long time?
This is a normal aging phenomenon.
Long-term exposure to cleaning agents, food dyes (such as curry), will cause the surface to lose its smoothness and become more prone to absorbing dyes. This indicates that the "life" of the tableware is coming to an end, and it is recommended to replace it.
Question:4:Are there any very cheap melamine tableware available on the market?
Strongly not recommended.
The extremely cheap melamine tableware is likely to have used inferior raw materials or have substandard production processes. Such products are extremely unsafe and of poor durability, and harmful substances are more likely to leach out.
Question5:What is the production time?
For a 20ft container of solid color products, the production time is around 10-15 days. For colored products, it will take a little longer.
