Melamine tableware powder, officially known as melamine-formaldehyde resin powder ("melamine resin powder"), is the core raw material for the production of melamine tableware. It is a thermosetting polymer material synthesized through the polycondensation reaction of melamine and formaldehyde, and then processed into a powder with the addition of additives. Its properties directly determine the melamine tableware's high-temperature resistance, impact resistance, and safety.

    1. Excellent high temperature resistance:

    After curing, it can withstand temperatures of -30°C to 120°C for a long time (150°C for a short time), meeting the daily dining needs of "serving hot soups and cold dishes". However, temperatures exceeding 120°C (such as microwave heating or open flame burning) will cause the resin to decompose and release harmful substances.

    2. High impact resistance:

    The texture is tough, and its resistance to drops and collisions is far superior to that of ceramic and glass tableware. It is not easy to break when dropped, and is suitable for high-frequency use scenarios such as homes, canteens, and hot pot restaurants.

    3. Chemical corrosion resistance:

    It is stable to common food and beverage condiments such as soy sauce, vinegar, grease, and alcohol, and will not be corroded or dissolved, nor will it release odor (qualified product).

     

    4. Easy to clean:

    After curing, the surface is smooth and non-porous, oil and dirt are not easy to adhere to, it can be cleaned by rinsing with clean water or simply wiping, and it is not easy to breed bacteria.

     

    5. Low density and lightweight:

    The density is about 1.5g/cm³, which is 40% lighter than ceramic (2.3g/cm³). It is highly portable and suitable for outdoor use and children's use.

    Question1:The raw material powder contains "melamine", is there a safety risk?

    The safety risk of qualified raw material powder is extremely low. The key lies in whether the resin is completely cured:

    The melamine in the raw materials has undergone a condensation reaction with formaldehyde to form a stable polymer structure (melamine formaldehyde resin), which is not free melamine.

    Question2: Why are some melamine tableware brightly colored and richly patterned?

    This is achieved by adding inorganic pigments to the raw material powder. Melamine resin has a good tolerance for pigments and can be mixed into a variety of bright colors. The pattern can be formed in one go during the molding process through the "decal paper" process.

    Question3:Can melamine tableware be put into the disinfection cabinet?

    It can be placed in an ozone or ultraviolet disinfection cabinet, but not in a high-temperature infrared disinfection cabinet. Continuous high temperatures (usually over 120°C) will damage the structure of the melamine resin.
